On 3 April, Chen Xuehua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, went to Huafei Nickel & Cobalt (Indonesia) Co., Ltd. for inspection and guidance, and convened an forum in the park to know the project construction, production and operation situation. Gao Baojun, Senior Vice President of the Group and President of Huayou Indonesia Nickel Industry Group, the persons-in-charge of each project and main cadres attended the meeting.

Mr Chen firstly expressed his sincere gratitude to all members of the project for their hard work and highly affirmed the series of achievements since the commencement of project construction. Mr Chen said that Huafei's 120,000 tonnes nickel metal volume project was put into operation in 16 months and reached production in March 2024, creating the "Huayou Speed" that has attracted the attention of the industry. As the world's largest nickel laterite hydrometallurgy project, the completion and operation of Huafei project will have an epoch-making impact on the Group's high-quality development, global nickel production industry pattern and nickel consumption. Next, Huafei will continue to lift the efforts of the whole group to accumulate resources and integrate elements to provide strong support for the high-quality development of the Indonesia nickel industry group.

"At present, the project has been transformed from construction and commissioning to full production or even over-production. At this critical juncture, I hope that all staffs of Huafei will carry forward the Huayou spirit of 'Constantly Strive to Become Stronger and Pursue Excellence', and make further efforts to achieve further success." For promoting the project's high-quality operation and development, Mr Chen made the following deployments: firstly, we should carefully operate, strengthen the coordination and guarantee the production, so as to maintain and consolidate the project's leading cost advantage; secondly, we should pay attention to production safety, and firmly grasp the concept of "safety and environmental protection are of the utmost importance.", so as to consolidate the safety and environmental protection foundation for high-quality development; thirdly, we should implement the ESG concept and do a good job in all aspects of the project. Thirdly, we should implement the ESG concept, do a good job in the project's ESG work, build a wonderful brand image of Chinese enterprises, and set up industry benchmarks; fourthly, we should strengthen the "Three Basics" construction, increase the training and empowerment, and continue to promote the strategy of "localisation of talents".

At the same time, Chairman Chen is very concerned about everyone's life, and asked to do a good job of living infrastructure and security services, so that everyone has more energy and physical strength to devote to the Group's second undertaking, ensuring that the project's high-quality operation, making contributions for the Group's high-quality development and joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
