On May 18th, Minister Counsellor Wang Hailong and his delegation from the Chinese Embassy in DRC visited the management headquarters of Huayou Africa Region for investigation and guidance, and General Manager Shen Jianqing received them warmly.

Minister Counsellor Wang Hailong affirmed the achievements made by Huayou Africa, and said that the Embassy attaches great importance to Chinese enterprises in the DRC, and the Embassy has always been the solid backing for Chinese enterprises' investment and development in the DRC. In terms of employee relations, Chinese enterprises should actively protect the rights and interests of employees, fully mobilise the enthusiasm and creativity of employees, and create harmonious and stable labour relations; in terms of compliance building, they should abide by local laws and regulations, achieve compliant operation, and properly resolve the risks of overseas operation; in terms of safety management, they should strengthen safety management, prevent safety risks, and actively implement the safety management mechanism of Chinese enterprises. It should also establish good contact with the local government and community, actively fulfil its social responsibility, and sincerely contribute to the local economic and social development.

Shen Jianqing warmly welcomed the visit of Mr Wang Hailong and his delegation, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Embassy for its care, support and guidance. He said that Huayou has the family sentiment of “rooted in China” and the business ideal of “befriends worldwide”, and in 2003, Huayou went to Congo (DRC) to investigate and develop copper and cobalt resources, and the development of overseas resources has provided stable resource guarantee for Huayou to become a global leader in new energy lithium materials.
