On October 18th, the completion ceremony and initial feedstock introduction of the "50,000 Ton High Nickel Ternary Precursor Material Project for Power Battery Applications" Phase I, undertaken by Huayou Cobalt's Huanneng New Materials (Indonesia) Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the Weda Bay Industrial Park in Indonesia. This marks the completion and commencement of operations of the first Huayou-invested new energy lithium battery ternary material factory in Indonesia, symbolizing the official start of Huayou's international manufacturing journey.

The Indonesian ternary precursor project is a critical measure for Huayou to implement its internationalization strategy. It is also a testament to Huayou's active response to China's Belt and Road Initiative, contributing to the friendship between the two countries through complementary resource and technological advantages, setting a new milestone for joint green and low-carbon development both domestically and internationally. This project actively supports Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum" and "Golden Indonesia 2045" strategies, promoting the downstream development of mining resources in Indonesia, opening a new industrial track, and serving as a new beginning for the high-value and technological advancement of Indonesian nickel resources. It is also a manifestation of Huayou's unwavering commitment to its founding principles, demonstrating its belief that "wherever we invest, we must contribute to the local economy and society." From lateritic nickel ore to advanced new materials, Huayou has not only advanced the implementation of the strategies of "industrial integration, product premiumization, and international business" but also showcased its high-level, high-quality, and efficient production and construction capabilities.

The project covers an area of approximately 65,000 square meters with a construction area of about 70,000 square meters. Since the ground-breaking ceremony on April 21st and the start of civil works on May 4th, facing tight deadlines, heavy tasks, and significant challenges, the project team drew valuable lessons from the experiences of pioneers in Indonesia. By optimizing designs to reduce engineering volumes, synchronizing steel structure installation, equipment, and piping, and ensuring efficient coordination of procurement, logistics, and support services, the team achieved remarkable milestones: completing civil engineering foundations in 20 days, capping the main structure in 90 days, finishing equipment installation in 100 days, and completing the main construction in 164 days, demonstrating Huayou's pursuit of excellence in execution.

As the group's first overseas precursor production facility, the Huanneng project possesses a competitive advantage in an integrated industrial chain from resources to materials, with comprehensive auxiliary facilities within the park. Additionally, relying on advanced domestic R&D platforms, the project utilizes self-developed key technologies and processes such as precise homogeneous doping of multiple elements and crystal growth orientation control, as well as modularized, intelligent, and automated system integration, placing the unit's products, processes, and energy consumption at the forefront of the industry. This has created new advantages for ternary precursor products, cost leadership, and green manufacturing, providing a robust guarantee for "green, safe, economical, high-performance, and sustainable" international operations, capable of meeting the high-quality, safe, and beneficial requirements of customers under new business conditions. Moreover, the construction of the project has effectively promoted the development of related industries in Indonesia, providing numerous job opportunities for the local population throughout the construction period, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

Moving forward, the Huanneng project team will continue to advance Phase II construction with high quality and efficiency while accelerating Phase I production operations, aiming to reach full production and standards as soon as possible. During the completion and initial feedstock introduction ceremony, responsible persons from the construction unit and the construction and operation teams delivered speeches, and all participants witnessed the honorable moment of the project's completion and initial production together.
